Andy Scott is an experienced business development, capital markets, strategy and go-to-market executive with significant operational, advisory and new venture experience both domestic and international. Multi-disciplinary skills including selling high value complex solutions, business development, marketing, fundraising, risk management/insurance and intellectual property strategy.
He has been a key advisor to senior management teams at innovative startup and growth companies in a variety of fields including Blockchain, LegalTech, FinTech, InsureTech, and Enterprise Software. He is currently a co-founder and advisor at InvenTrust which has launched a trusted software code exchange that is enabled by blockchain and AI.
Andy joined RPX Corporation in 2008 soon after it was founded and venture backed by Kleiner Perkins and CRV. RPX went public in 2011. As VP of Business Development, Andy helped develop and grow RPX’s patent risk mitigation subscription service and a patent litigation insurance offering which utilized RPX’s proprietary data and risk mitigation methodologies. Andy was named as one of the ‘Top 300 World’s Leading IP Strategists’ by IAM Magazine.
Prior to joining RPX, Andy was a founder and Co-Managing Partner of Pluritas LLC, a patent brokerage and IP investment banking advisory firm.
Prior to founding Pluritas, Andy was VP Investor Strategy at Garage Technology Ventures, a venture capital investment bank. Andy built a network of over 3,000 angel, venture capital and corporate investors who reviewed startup investment opportunities.
Andy holds a B.A. with a major in Economics from Northwestern University, and a M.B.A. with an emphasis on entrepreneurship, finance and marketing from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Andy is married, has two teenagers, and enjoys skiing, soccer, tennis and mountain biking.
