About Us
How we work, and why it tends to be different.
An advisory and investment firm built on a specific discipline about how the work itself is done.
A firm of operators, investors, and advisors who have built, scaled, sold, and governed companies across multiple industries.
Deep functional expertise across ten advisory practices, paired with active equity investment through Advantary Capital Partners.
Engaged when capital changes hands, when specialist judgment is needed, or when opportunity flow requires discipline.
"Advantary Capital Partners is more than an investment partner, they are a member of our team."
— Bryan Davis, CEO, Package, Inc.
First active engagement:
2017, when Advantary, LLC was formed.

Our Mission
Advantary was built on the conviction that most of what holds companies back is not strategic, capital, or operational — it is the discipline with which a small group of people can think clearly together about hard decisions.
We bring two things to the table that are unusual in combination: deep functional expertise across ten advisory disciplines, and a shared standard for how the work itself is done.
That standard is named in the book at the center of the firm — The Discipline of Coming Home, by managing partner Stephen Kuhn. The argument shapes how we engage: we tell clients what we see, we decline work that does not fit, and we do not stay longer than the work requires.
We hold ourselves to that standard whether we are sitting on a board, leading an engagement, or making an investment. The shape of the work changes; the standard does not.
If that is the way you want to be worked with, we are likely a fit.
How we work in practice
We tell clients what we see. — Including when it is not what was contracted for.
We name what is not yet decided. — Ambiguity is the most expensive thing on most decision tables.
We write things down. — What was decided, what was not, and what we recommend next.
We decline work that does not fit. — And we name who fits better.
We hold one standard. — The same across boards, engagements, and investments.
We do not stay longer than the work requires. — Bounded engagements, clean handoffs.
