Robert Lee has more than 30 years of leadership in venture capital, corporate innovation and development, startups, strategy consulting, global operations, and angel investing.
During his tenure at Micron Ventures, Robert managed a $300 million deep-tech/AI venture capital fund with coverage in AI/ML computer architecture, semiconductors, mobility, industry 4.0, sustainability, and healthcare. Sector focus included innovation in data centers, automotive, and genAI. As the Managing Director at China Oceanwide, he was responsible for crafting, building, and managing a newly formed US technology private equity platform. Robert was the Founding General Partner at KT Venture Group, a deep-tech hybrid private-corporate VC firm. Prior to launching this unique VC fund, Robert led the M&A group at KLA.
Robert's advisory and consulting journey included Managing Director roles at DelMorgan and OneTraction, where he provided business development leadership, formulated strategic plans, and executed stage-agnostic deals across diverse industry verticals. Robert was the Managing Director at CrossPath Group, a strategy consulting firm focused on the startup ecosystem. Robert’s projects included incubator launch, boutique M&A Asia cross-border advisory, and startup strategy/capital financing/coaching. Robert served as the Managing Director of The Brenner Group, focused on partnering with VC firms and their portfolio startups in financial management (interim CFO), financial advisory services (M&A), business valuations, and restructuring services.
Robert was the Managing Director at Smart Solar International, a cleantech startup which spun off from the University of Tokyo. Before his startup leadership experience, Robert led worldwide business operations at Cymer. Robert also held various operational management positions including worldwide post-merger integration operations at KLA. He began his career at Sempra Energy.
Robert holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BS in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College.
